Challenge Employment & Training is seeking expressions of interest to undertake an entry level PAID Conservation and Ecosystem Management Traineeship.
These fantastic entry level positions will enable job seekers to gain valuable skills and practical hands-on experience whilst undertaking training in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.

Highly regarded:
A driver’s license and vehicle will be highly regarded as there will be travel across work sites.
What you will be doing day-to-day:
Project may include clearing invasive species, machine operation (brush cutters and line trimers), seedling/tube stock planting, replanting native vegetation; also techniques to arrest and reverse environmental issues will be learnt throughout the duration of the program.
What you get from being involved:
Candidates will gain on-the-job specific skills and complete a Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (AHC10120).
Participants will be employed under a 20-week traineeship, working 38 hours per week, paid under the National Training Award ranging from $10.49 – $18.84* per hour (excluding super). In addition, support and preparation for future employment will also be provided.
Applications from candidates of all ages, applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, long-term unemployed, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged.
This training is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government through it’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work Initiative (eligibility criteria applies).
Who is eligible?
- Queensland residents
- Aged 15 years or older
- Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary residents with the necessary visa and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency, or New Zealand citizens.
- Ineligible for Australian Government employment services or assistance; or have accessed Australian Government employment services for more than six months and remain unemployed.
- Have not previously completed a Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.
- Not currently a full-time student at TAFE, University or School.
- Not in full-time / stable employment.
