CSQ Annual Training Plan Launch for Brisbane West

The beautiful surrounds of Brookwater Golf and Country Club played host this morning to the Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Annual Training Plan Launch, where industry leaders, educators, and community representatives came together to hear about the future of skills and training in the construction sector.

Among the attendees were Rees Banks, CEO of Regional Development Australia Ipswich & West Moreton (RDAIWM), and Liz Conroy, Project Manager of the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee. Their participation highlighted the strong ties between regional workforce planning and the training pathways CSQ continues to champion across Queensland.

The launch provided valuable insights into how CSQ is shaping training priorities to meet the challenges of a rapidly growing region. With the Greater Brisbane region experiencing record investment in housing, infrastructure, and industry, the importance of equipping local workers with the right skills has never been greater. In fact, an additional 18,000 workers will be needed every year in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, underscoring the scale of the challenge ahead.

Rees and Liz took the opportunity to connect with local stakeholders and discuss how the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee has collaborated with CSQ’s training initiatives and immersion pathway programs to ensure our region benefits from sustainable workforce pathway opportunities.

Events like this demonstrate the power of collaboration between industry, government, and community organisations to strengthen local employment pathways and prepare the workforce for the future. Exciting times ahead for our region!
