A Year of Pathways, Partnerships and Progress in Greater Springfield
The past week has been one of celebration, collaboration and reflection — an opportunity to acknowledge a strong year of working alongside incredible partners, employers, educators and community organisations across Greater Springfield.
Together, we have promoted local jobs, strengthened education-to-employment pathways, and supported a more connected and informed community. At the heart of this work are the people it impacts most — young people and their families — and the many individual journeys that reflect the value of coordinated, local action.
Throughout the year, we celebrated the young person preparing for employment in 2026. We celebrated the young person who discovered the vocational education and training (VET) pathway that best suited them while still at school. We celebrated those who stepped into industry placements to gain real-world experience aligned to their qualifications. And we celebrated the young person who asked for work experience and, through that opportunity, successfully secured an apprenticeship commencing in 2026.
While these stories highlight individual achievements, they also reflect the collective effort of schools, employers, training providers, parents and community organisations working together to support young people at critical decision-making points.
The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee is grateful to have played a part in many of these journeys. We are equally grateful for the opportunity to engage with parents and educators, discussing the wide range of pathways available to young people and helping families navigate what can often feel like a complex system.
This was particularly evident at the Parent and Pathways Evening held in June, which welcomed close to 200 parents. The strong attendance reinforced that many families are actively seeking guidance on how best to support their children’s future education and employment decisions. Being able to connect parents directly with trusted employers, educators and training providers was a highlight of the year.
The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government, whose ongoing commitment enables continued collaboration, connection and opportunity-building for young people across the region.
As the year draws to a close, we look forward to building on these partnerships and continuing to support meaningful pathways into employment, training and further education in the year ahead.
