Parent and Pathway Evening Empowers Springfield Families
More than 150 parents and students gathered at the University of Southern Queensland’s Springfield campus for the Parent and Pathway Information Evening, hosted by the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee.
The event brought together schools, training providers, employers, and community organisations to showcase the diverse education and career pathways available to young people across the region. Attendees explored options ranging from university and vocational education to apprenticeships, traineeships, and inclusive support services.
Guest speakers shared expert insights on local opportunities, equipping families with the knowledge to make confident decisions about study and career choices. The high level of engagement highlighted the community’s strong interest in planning for the future workforce.
Springfield Regional Jobs Committee Chair said the evening was “a clear example of how collaboration can help families better navigate the many pathways available to school leavers and jobseekers.”
The event was made possible with the support of key partners including UniSQ, the Queensland Department of Education, Myhorizon, Construction Skills Queensland, Mater, AJS Consulting, MEGT Australia, Apprentice Employment Network QLD & NT, TAFE Queensland, and WesTEC Trade Training Centre.
The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee is proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government to deliver a coordinated approach to skills development, workforce participation, and business growth.
Videos and resources from the event will be shared with the community in the coming weeks.
