Queensland launch of National Skills Week

Last night Springfield Regional Jobs Committee Chair and Project Manager were delighted to attend the Queensland launch of National Skills Week at Parliament House.

National Skills Week is dedicated to raising the profile and status of skills and vocational learning, while dispelling outdated myths and showcasing the attractive career opportunities for all Australians.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) has been the foundation of Australia’s strong and vibrant economy. It has produced industry leaders, it offers great diversity, new and exciting career paths, supports our resources and primary industries, builds our cities, supports our tourism, our heritage and much, much more.

We were excited to hear from the panel of guest speakers, particularly delegates from WorldSkills Australia 2024 Skillaroo team who will head to Lyon, France to represent Australia this September. 1,400 Competitors from more than 70 countries and regions worldwide will compete in 59 skills. From Floristry to 3D Digital Game Art, Welding to Autonomous Mobile Robotics, or Web Technologies to Wall and Floor Tiling, WorldSkills Lyon 2024 will allow these young competitors to showcase their skills and share their passions. From what we heard last night, the Australians, particularly our Queenslanders, are set to 🌟🌟🌟.

The Queensland Government reaffirmed their commitment to skilling Queenslanders via vocational training with more FREE TAFE, FREE apprenticeships and upgrades to facilities. Find out more about Good Jobs, Great Training https://tinyurl.com/yzkkbf5r
