The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee is continuing to strengthen connections across the Greenbank and North Maclean area, with a focus on local jobs, workforce needs and opportunities for skills development.
SRJC Project Manager Liz Conroy recently met with Gail Ker from THRIVING Local and Logan City Councillor Natalie Wilcox to discuss the activation of the Greenbank Community Centre and the opportunities it could create for the local community.
The conversation explored local employment and training needs, the workforce challenges being identified by employers and how community spaces and local partnerships can help connect people with employment, training, services and other opportunities closer to home.
With the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee active across Greenbank and North Maclean, there is a natural crossover between this work and the broader focus on strengthening community and economic participation in the area.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the SRJC to share local workforce intelligence gathered through its engagement with employers, jobseekers and service providers, while learning more about the vision for the Greenbank Community Centre and its future role within the community.
Strong local outcomes rely on strong local partnerships. The SRJC looks forward to continuing to work with THRIVING Local, Councillor Wilcox and other stakeholders across Greenbank and North Maclean to identify practical ways to connect local people with jobs, skills and opportunities.
Local employers, training providers, community organisations and residents who would like to contribute to the conversation are encouraged to connect with the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee.
